Asthma and allergic diseases are a phenotypic marker for CVID patients?: We thank Kotsiou et al. for their correspondence 1 in response to our recently published article about respiratory complications in common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) patients 2. Since we aimed to determine functional and structural changes in the respiratory tract following recurrent infections, we did not report atopic reactions. Kotsiou et al. 1 mentioned a high prevalence of asthma in CVID patients, while we (4.8%) 3 and other studies (3-15%) 4 have previously reported a lower rate of it.
